Last-minute and emergency boarding
Call 707-678-6600 during open hours and ask for your dates; the kennel confirms every reservation and cannot promise space in advance. Having vaccine records and the boarding agreement ready is what makes a short-notice stay quick.
Plans change: a family emergency, a flight, a repair. A short list of what to do, in order, saves the most time.
Do these in order
- Call 707-678-6600 between 7:30 and 11:30 AM or 2:00 and 5:00 PM and give your dates, pets and breeds.
- Upload vaccine records to your online account or email them.
- Download and fill in the boarding agreement, or allow extra time to complete it at the counter.
- Arrive in an open window and keep your pet in the car until a staff member comes out.
- Pay the balance at pick-up.
What records you need
Dogs need rabies, distemper/parvo, Bordetella and canine influenza. Cats need rabies and FVRCP. Records must be current through the last day. For canine influenza, the first dose is accepted but the booster is due 3 to 4 weeks later. Pets must be 16 weeks old. If any record is missing, ask your veterinarian for a copy today.
Holiday dates
Short-notice holiday stays are subject to the deposit: a 50% non-refundable deposit 30 days before drop-off for stays that begin 7 days before through 7 days after a major holiday. When the date is inside 30 days, call and ask how it is handled. The kennel is closed all day on New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Costs
On the 2026 rates, one dog is $72, $59 or $52 a night depending on the kennel class, and a cat is $35. Three nights in Business Class is 3 x $59, $177. An afternoon pick-up is charged half of a night. Stays of 14 or more nights, and military stays, get about 10% off. See emergency boarding during fires and floods and first-stay plan.
What the kennel looks like
Dogs stay in one of 100 indoor/outdoor runs on about 10 country acres, heated in winter and air-conditioned in summer. Cats have individual four-level condos with their own litter box and blanket. Tours run every day from 9 to 11 AM and 2 to 4 PM without an appointment, and a staff member walks with you.

What pet owners say
I love this place and so do the dogs. They offers tours, have A/C and/or heat. They always look and smell super clean. They even filter the indoor air. They email pics of them playing. I have 2 large breeds that share a 1st class kennel. They even offer treats and baths. So nice to have a place I trust. Everyone is...
This place is fantastic! I have one super easy going dog and one that is very much the opposite, she takes a long time to be comfortable with strangers and can be aggressive. I chose Happy Paws originally because the dogs can go in and out without having to be put on a leash. I am so happy I made that decision. Now my...
