Boarding while you or a family member is in the hospital

A hospital stay is the kind of trip nobody schedules. What helps most is a simple booking and room to change the dates.

Getting a pet in quickly

Call 707-678-6600 during the day, or send a request through the booking page. The kennel confirms every reservation, and availability is not guaranteed, so a phone call is the fastest way to know. Drop-off is 7:30 to 11:30 AM and 2:00 to 5:00 PM every day except the closed holidays.

If you cannot drop off yourself, another adult can bring your pet. List them on the boarding agreement as someone allowed to pick up, and keep your emergency contact information current.

The paperwork, kept short

1. Complete the boarding agreement once. A family member can pick up a copy at the office, fill it in at the first drop-off or have it emailed.
2. Send rabies and the other required vaccine records. Dogs need rabies, distemper/parvo, Bordetella and canine influenza; cats need rabies and FVRCP. Records must stay good through the end of the stay.
3. Name an emergency contact who is not traveling with you and can make decisions.
4. Choose a treatment level on the medical release in case your pet needs care and the kennel cannot reach you.

When the end date is unknown

Charges run by the night, like a hotel, so a stay with an open end is billed for the nights actually used. Call when you know the date. If your stay passes four weeks, the kennel asks for a card on file, charged every two weeks in advance. At 14 nights or more a dog moves to the long-term rate: $65 in First Class, $53 in Business Class, $47 in Economy.

What it costs for a typical week

Seven nights for one dog in Business Class is 7 x $59, or $413 on the 2026 rates. A cat in the cattery is 7 x $35, or $245. Medications and special feedings are included at no extra charge, which helps when a pet is on regular medicine.
