Economy Class kennel

Economy runs are in the original building, which dates to 1971. The kennel says they fit several small or medium dogs, or one large dog.

What the price covers

Food, medications, special feedings and walks are all included in the nightly rate. Active military families and stays of 14 nights or more pay $47 for one dog. An afternoon pick-up adds half the nightly fee, which is $26 in this class.

What a stay costs

Three nights for one dog is $156, and a week is $364. Two small dogs from the same home sharing a run for seven nights come to $672 ($52 plus $44, times seven). Fourteen nights at the long-term rate is $658.

Settling in

Every Economy run has the same features as the larger ones: a doggie door, heat in winter, air conditioning in summer, and a Kuranda bed with blankets. Dogs see their neighbors through the fence but keep their own space, and walks are part of the day.

When to step up

A large dog on a long stay, or a dog who paces, may be more settled with extra space. Business Class is the next size up, and First Class is the largest. See all three side by side on the kennel sizes page.
