Printable packing list
The short answer is that you need nothing but your pet. The printable list covers the few extras that help, such as your pet's own food in the original bag, medications with directions, one toy that is not the favorite and a slow-feeder bowl if your pet uses one.

You really do not need anything other than your pet. Leashes, bowls, balls, Kuranda beds, blankets and house food are provided.
Pack for a boarding stay
- Print the list Use the print button on this page.
- Gather food and medications Original bag, amounts in cups, medications with directions.
- Check the paperwork Vaccine records and the boarding agreement.
- Remove metal pinch (prong) collars Swap in a flat collar and an ID tag.
Happy Paws provides leashes, bowls, beds and blankets. The list below separates what is helpful from what is better left at home, so your bag stays small.
Bring
- Current vaccine records, if not already uploaded
- The completed boarding agreement, if not already on file
- Special food in the original bag, enough for the stay plus a little extra
- Feeding amounts written in cups, teaspoons or tablespoons
- Medications in their containers with written directions
- A slow-feeder bowl, if your pet uses one
- One toy, but not the favorite one
Leave at home
- Beds and bedding: Kuranda beds and blankets are in every run
- Metal pinch (prong) collars, which can catch on chain link; remove them before check-in
- The favorite toy, which could be lost or destroyed
Write down
Mark all belongings with your name. Note allergies, feeding times, medication times and an emergency contact who is not traveling with you. The boarding agreement asks for these, and the form needs only one completion even if you have an online account.
At check-in
Leave your pet in the car, with the air conditioning on in warm weather, while you check in. Staff carry the belongings and walk your pet in. On hot pavement they may scoop up smaller dogs and hurry. Drop-off windows are 7:30 to 11:30 AM and 2:00 to 5:00 PM.
Why so little
House food costs nothing extra, medications are given at no charge, and every run has a bed. Bringing less keeps things from getting lost. Your own food is welcome if your pet has a special diet or sensitive stomach.
For cats
Cats need little more: their own food if they eat a special diet, any medication with directions, and a familiar blanket if you wish. Each cat has its own litter box and blanket in the cattery tower, and house food is pate and chicken-and-rice kibble.
