The boarding agreement

The agreement is four pages: the agreement itself with owner and emergency contacts, your pet's information, a photo release and a medical release. Here is what it covers, in plain words. The signed agreement itself is what governs your pet's stay.

What you fill in

• You and any additional owner, with phone, address and email (the kennel does not share your email)
• An emergency contact who is not traveling with you and can make decisions and pick up
• Anyone else allowed to pick up, and your veterinarian
• For each pet: name, breed, age, weight, sex, spayed or neutered, any bite history, feeding times and amounts, food brand, activity level, allergies and health conditions

The main terms

• The kennel takes reasonable care of your pet while it is in its custody.
• Comfort items are welcome; every kennel has a cot, heat and air conditioning, and blankets, and the kennel is not responsible for bedding or toys that are damaged or lost.
• The posted daily rates apply to the whole stay; check-out is by 11:30 AM and an afternoon check-out is a half-day charge.
• Please call if you cannot pick up on the scheduled date, so the kennel can plan with you.
• If your pet needs a veterinarian, the kennel may get care at your expense and will try to reach you, then your additional contact, then your emergency contact.
• A fully vaccinated pet can still catch a contagious illness; boarding can also make anxiety or arthritis flare.

Photos and medical choices

The photo release lets the kennel use photos and video of your pet from its stays. The medical release lets you record your pet's health, age-related concerns, any pet insurance, and how far you want treatment to go if you cannot be reached.
