AKC pictures a Border Collie's brain in a 100-pound body: smart, spirited, a versatile herder and protector. A Beauceron wants a job, even a short stay.
Business Class, sometimes more
Business Class gives about 30 square feet inside plus 60 outside. A heavy male at 100 pounds or more may prefer First Class at $72.
Short but double
The coat is short and double, which is why the cell is a question. A 76 to 100 pound dog is $50 in Short and $75 in Double Coated, and a lighter dog in the 51 to 75 row is $45 or $65. Please ask which cell applies. AKC rates shedding at 4 of 5.
Herding energy
Energy is 5 of 5. The large fenced play areas and the grass field give a herder room, and walks are included. A tired Beauceron makes the most settled guest.
Watchful
Beaucerons are loyal and protective. Dogs see neighbors through the fence but have their own space. Staff walk your dog in from the car at check-in, so tell us how your dog meets strangers.
Heat
NOAA records about 100 days a year at 90 degrees or more at Vacaville. A double coat holds heat, so the air-conditioned inside half of the run is the better place at midday.
Planning the trip
Drop-off and pick-up are every day, 7:30 to 11:30 AM and 2:00 to 5:00 PM, closed 11:30 to 2:00. Holiday weeks need a deposit: stays beginning 7 days before through 7 days after a major holiday require a 50 percent non-refundable deposit 30 days before drop-off, so please call to confirm. A tour any day at 9 to 11 AM or 2 to 4 PM lets you see how the runs and doggie doors work for a large dog.
Cost and records
A week in Business Class is 7 x $59 on the 2026 rates, and 14 nights or more is $53 a night. Rabies, distemper/parvo, Bordetella and canine influenza records must be good through the last day. Request a stay or call 707-678-6600.
