Labor Day closes out the summer travel season, and the deposit window reaches back into the last week of August. Both ends of the window matter when you pick dates.
Both ends of the window
The window opens Monday, August 30 and closes Monday, September 13. That is two weeks of reservations, including trips that end well before the holiday and trips that begin just after it. A week in the Sierra that starts August 31 is covered even though you are home before Labor Day.
A Friday, September 3 drop-off needs the deposit paid by August 4. A drop-off on Tuesday, September 7, the day after the holiday, falls in the window too.
The long weekend itself
Saturday and Sunday keep the 7:30 to 11:30 AM and 2:00 to 5:00 PM windows. Monday is closed all day. Pick up on Sunday afternoon, or on Tuesday morning by 11:30. Afternoon pick-ups are charged half the nightly fee, so a Tuesday morning return is the tidy choice for a Friday-to-Tuesday trip.
If you leave Friday afternoon, the 2:00 to 5:00 PM window is the one to aim for. Staff carry your pet's belongings in and walk your pet to the kennel from the car, so keep the car cool while you check in.
A sample bill
One dog in an Economy kennel from Friday, September 3 to Tuesday, September 7 is four nights at $52, or $208 on the 2026 rates. In Business Class it is four nights at $59, or $236. A cat condo is $35 a night. If two dogs share a kennel, the second pays the reduced sharing rate. The stay estimator handles your own dates.
After the holiday
Late summer is still hot in Dixon. NOAA's Vacaville normals average a high near 92 degrees in September, with about 19 days of 90 or more. Dogs coming home from a country stay may have run through the grass field, so a bath on the way out is something to ask about before pick-up. Baths are priced by size and coat, so please ask.

Is the kennel closed the Sunday before Labor Day?
No. Sunday has the regular windows. Only Monday, September 6 is closed all day.
