Long stays happen: a move, a long trip, a home renovation. They work best with clear billing and a few comforts from home.
How billing works
Cat boarding is $35 a night for one cat, and $30 for each additional cat sharing a condo, on the 2026 rates. For any stay of more than four weeks, the rate sheet requires a credit card on file that is charged every two weeks in advance. The sheet lists a reduced long-term rate of 14 or more nights for dogs; for a long cat stay, call 707-678-6600 to ask what applies. Afternoon pick-up is charged half of the nightly fee.
Keeping a cat settled
A long stay is easier with a routine. Each cat has an individual four-level tower with its own litter box and blanket, plus a cat tree and cat houses for play. Bring a familiar blanket and the usual food in the original bag; house food is free if you prefer. Medications are given at no extra charge. Veterinary groups link steady routines and a sense of control with lower feline stress, as the AAFP and ISFM guidelines describe.
Vaccines and records
Rabies and FVRCP must stay current through the end of the stay. Check expiry dates before drop-off, because a month is long enough for a booster to come due. Send updated records to your account. If a cat is on any treatment, keep your vet's details on the form and your emergency contact reachable. The sending vaccine records page shows how.
Plan for pick-up and the first days home
Confirm the pick-up date by phone and keep an eye on the holiday calendar. Stays that begin in a holiday window need a 50 percent deposit 30 days ahead. After a long stay, give your cat a quiet room and time. See bringing your cat home and what to expect from a month-long stay.
A simple monthly checklist
Before the stay: confirm vaccine dates, put the card on file, write the feeding and medication notes, and bring a familiar blanket. During the stay: keep your phone number current and answer calls from the kennel. At the end: confirm the pick-up day and time, check for a holiday that moves the hours, and plan a quiet room at home. Doing this once keeps the weeks in between simple.
