Deployments, sabbaticals, remodels and long trips all lead to month-long stays. Planning the paperwork early is the key.
What 30 nights costs
| Kennel (2026 rates) | Per night, 14+ nights | 30 nights |
|---|---|---|
| First Class | $65 | $1,950 |
| Business Class | $53 | $1,590 |
| Economy | $47 | $1,410 |
How billing works
For stays longer than four weeks, a credit card is placed on file and charged every two weeks in advance. Shorter stays pay the balance at pick-up. Cash, checks, debit, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover are accepted. Active military families get the same reduced nightly rate; the rate sheet does not list it as adding on top of the 14+ night rate. See payment and deposits.
Vaccines for a long stay
Vaccine records must stay current through the last day, not just the first. If a rabies, Bordetella or canine influenza date falls in the middle of a month-long stay, update the records before you leave or arrange for an updated record to be sent. Records can be uploaded to your online account or emailed.
Food, medication and comfort
Your own food is welcome at no charge. Bring enough for the whole stay plus a bit extra, in the original bag, with amounts written in cups. Medications are given at no extra charge. Each dog has an indoor/outdoor run with a Kuranda bed and blankets, and walks are included. Dogs often settle into a routine after the first week.
Plan the contacts
Give an emergency contact who is not traveling with you, and keep your phone number current. The boarding agreement says that if a pet is not picked up and there is no contact for 10 days after the scheduled date, the pet may be treated as abandoned, so call if your plans change. See long-term dog boarding and deployment boarding.
A rhythm for the weeks
Most long-stay dogs fall into a routine within a few days: meals, walks, time in the run and rest. Staying in the same run throughout, with its own bed and blankets, helps. Tell staff about any changes in appetite or behavior that you notice, and plan a calm reunion. A short tour before the stay lets you pick the right kennel size, since a dog spending a month benefits from room to move.
