Holiday deposit windows, 2026 to 2028

The 2026 rate sheet states the rule in words. This page lists the actual dates for each holiday the kennel closes for.

Major holidays here are the days the kennel closes all day. A 50% non-refundable deposit applies; cancel at least 7 days ahead for a 100% account credit. Please call 707-678-6600 to confirm.

How the rule works

The rate sheet applies the deposit to reservations beginning seven days before a major holiday through seven days after it. Its example is a stay that begins on the 10th with a holiday on the 17th: a deposit is due. Cancellations at least 7 days ahead receive a credit on the account for 100% of the deposit, and cancellations less than 7 days ahead forfeit it. Outside these windows no deposit is due, unless a stay is longer than four weeks, when a card on file is charged every two weeks.

Which holidays are listed

The sheet does not list which holidays count as major. The table uses the days the kennel closes: New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Where two holidays fall close together, their windows are merged into one. Please call 707-678-6600 to confirm the rule for your dates.

Method

We counted seven days either side of each date from the holiday list, using the dates published by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management for federal holidays and the calendar for Easter, and merged windows that overlap. The dates were computed on October 19, 2026 and checked against the rate sheet's example. Use the deposit checker to test your own drop-off date.

What the table does not show

It shows when a deposit applies, not the amount. The amount is 50% of the stay, so a Business Class dog for four nights is four nights at $59, or $236, and the deposit would be half. The estimator on the stay cost page does the sum for you.
