The AKC calls Pulik agile and faithful little dynamos, covered head to tail with profuse, naturally occurring cords. Small body, huge coat: that mix drives every part of a stay.
A small dog under a big coat
Males are about 17 inches and females 16, and a Puli weighs 25 to 35 pounds, a tightly knit and square body under the hair. Economy (4x4 ft, $52 a night) fits. The dog is smaller than it looks, because the coat adds a lot of apparent size.
Cords, undercoat and the bath
The standard describes a dense, weather-resistant coat, wavy or curly outside and soft, woolly and dense underneath. It clumps together and, if allowed to develop naturally, forms cords in the adult. Because this is a double coat of long hair, the chart's last column is the one that applies: $45 at 16 to 25 pounds and $55 at 26 to 50 on the chart effective January 1, 2024. Cords hold water for a long time, so please ask the front desk about price and drying time before you request a bath.
Quick, alert, always working
Pulik were herding dogs, and the AKC says they are quick learners. The large fenced play areas and the grass field give that energy a place to go, and walks are included. A slow-feeder bowl is welcome if your Puli uses one.
Summer coat care
Corded coats are heavy and hard to dry, so a wet Puli stays damp longer than most breeds. The air-conditioned side of the run keeps the dog cool in summer, and heated runs are there in winter. Please tell the staff at drop-off if your dog's cords are long enough to drag on the floor.
