The AKC calls the Clumber mellow and dignified, with some shedding and drooling. He is a low, heavy dog, not a springer, and the stay is built around that.
Business Class for a low, heavy dog
Males stand 18 to 20 inches and females 17 to 19 but weigh far more than their height suggests. Business Class gives about 30 square feet inside plus 60 outside. A male near 85 pounds may prefer First Class (6x8 ft) at $72. Two Clumbers from one home share Business for $59 and $50.
Silky, wavy coat
The AKC lists a medium, silky, wavy coat with regular shedding. A female in the 51 to 75 pound row is $50 in the Medium column; a male in the 76 to 100 row is $55. Droopy lips and a feathered coat collect water and slobber, so a bath before pick-up is a reasonable option. Please ask to confirm the price.
Mellow, not lazy
Mellow is the AKC's word for the Clumber's temperament. Walks are included, and a slow stroll around the grass field suits this dog. Expect a long nap in the Kuranda bed in between.
Heat and weight
A heavy dog with a silky coat finds a hot day hard. NOAA's Vacaville station records about 100 days a year at 90 degrees or more. The air-conditioned inside half of the run is the right place in summer; the runs are heated in winter. Your Clumber chooses through the doggie door.
Food and records
House food is free, or bring your own in its original bag with the amount in cups. Medications are given at no extra charge. Rabies, distemper/parvo, Bordetella and canine influenza must be current. Seven nights in Business Class is 7 x $59 on the 2026 rates.
Tours run every day from 9 to 11 AM and 2 to 4 PM with no appointment, and a staff member walks with you, so you can see a Business Class run and its Kuranda bed before you book. Online booking is a request; the kennel confirms every reservation.
