A Cavapoo is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel crossed with a Poodle, so there is no single breed standard. We plan around the two parent breeds and, more usefully, around what your own dog weighs.
Where a Cavapoo lands on size
The American Kennel Club lists the Cavalier at 12 to 13 inches and 13 to 18 pounds, and the Miniature Poodle at 10 to 15 inches and 10 to 15 pounds. A Toy Poodle parent (4 to 6 pounds) pulls the weight lower. Most Cavapoos therefore sit in the small-dog range, and one dog is at home in an Economy kennel: about 16 square feet inside plus 48 outside. Two Cavapoos from one home share it for $52 plus $44.
If your dog is a bigger cross and weighs more than 25 pounds, tell us. We would look at Business Class at $59.
Coat: the poodle side decides
Cavaliers have a silky, feathered coat and Poodles a dense curly one, and a Cavapoo can show either or a mix. The chart that matters pairs weight with coat. A dog of 15 pounds or less is $30 in the medium column and a 16 to 25 pound dog is $40 on the bath chart effective January 1, 2024. Please ask to confirm. Curly coats tangle behind the ears and under the legs, so a brush the morning of drop-off is kind.
A companion dog's stay
Both parents were bred to stay close to people, and a Cavapoo can be a velcro dog that watches the door. That is normal on day one. Your dog has its own run with a Kuranda bed and a blanket, sees the neighbors through the fence, and gets walks every day. One small toy from home, not the favorite, is plenty. Leave your pet in the car at check-in and staff will carry the bags and walk your dog in.
Heat and long ears
nearby Vacaville, the closest weather station, averages about 100 days a year at 90 degrees or higher. A small dog with a full coat and heavy ears feels it quickly, so the air-conditioned indoor run is the right place in the afternoon. Dogs choose between indoor and outdoor through the doggie door.
Ready for the first night
Upload the vaccine records and list any medications, which are given at no extra charge. Bring the food in its original bag with the amount in cups, or use the house food at no charge.
