Bichons are cheerful, curly and social. Their coat is the thing to plan around.
Economy size, and one clear coat plan
At 12 to 18 pounds and about a foot tall, a Bichon is comfortable in Economy, 4x4 ft, at $52 a night. The AKC says Bichons get on well with other dogs and children, so two from one home can share one run and the second pays $44.
Coat and baths
The AKC calls the white coat plush and velvety, and its characteristics list long, curly and double with infrequent shedding. A coat like that mats if it is not combed, and a stay is a good moment for a clean dog. On the bath chart effective January 1, 2024, the extra long or double coated column is $35 for 15 pounds or less and $45 for 16 to 25 pounds; please ask to confirm.
Adaptable, curious, happy-go-lucky
The AKC says Bichons operate on the assumption that there are no strangers, just friends they have not met yet. It lists a playful, curious, peppy temperament. That is a dog who enjoys the walk, the neighbors and the staff. Bring one toy that is not the favorite, and a slow-feeder bowl if your Bichon uses one.
Heat, cold and the run
Small and white-coated, a Bichon is happy indoors on a hot day. The summer runs are air-conditioned and the Kuranda bed keeps him up off the floor. In winter the heated runs keep the plush coat from feeling the cold.
Making the visit easy for a Bichon
Bichons are people dogs, so a tour is worth a visit. Tours run every day from 9 to 11 AM and 2 to 4 PM with no appointment, and a staff member walks with you past the runs. Google reviewers often mention photos during the stay, and an additional picture play session is $14.99 per kennel on the 2026 rates if you want one.
Pick-up timing
Check-out is by 11:30 AM. If you collect your Bichon in the afternoon window (2:00 to 5:00 PM), the pick-up is half of the nightly fee. A Bichon in a fresh bath looks best at pick-up, so ask about the bath when you book rather than at the door.
