House guests with allergies or a new pet in the home
If a visitor has pet allergies, or you are adding a new pet to the home, a few nights at Happy Paws Kennels gives everyone room. Boarding is charged by the night, from $35 for a cat condo to $72 for one dog in First Class on the 2026 rates.
A full house changes the day for a dog or cat as much as for the people. Sometimes the kindest plan for everyone is a short stay away.
Guests with allergies
Pet allergens linger in carpet, bedding and air for a long time, so a visitor with allergies may be uncomfortable even when the pet is out of the room. Boarding the pet for the length of the visit gives you time to clean before they arrive. Ask your guest how long they are staying, then book the nights with a margin for the cleaning day.
Cleaning can wait until after pick-up if you prefer: check-out is by 11:30 AM, or between 2:00 and 5:00 PM for half a night more.
If your visitor is mildly allergic, ask them what they are comfortable with, then book accordingly.
Introducing a new puppy, kitten or rescue
Dogs and cats need time with a new animal. Some owners board the resident pet for the first days so the newcomer settles on its own, then do introductions on neutral ground. Dogs and cats must be 16 weeks old before the first day of a stay, so a young puppy or kitten is not yet ready. The puppy boarding page and the age question explain the rule.
A visiting dog with its owners
When a guest brings a dog that does not get along with yours, boarding your own dog can keep both calm. A dog can stay in a kennel by itself, or two familiar dogs share a kennel at the reduced sharing rate. The two dogs, one kennel guide helps you decide.

Book early for holidays
Guests tend to come over holidays. The kennel is closed all day on seven major holidays, and stays beginning seven days before through seven days after them need a 50% deposit. Use the deposit checker and call to confirm.

Can a cat and a dog from one home both stay?
Yes. Dogs stay in kennels and cats in individual towers, with separate nightly rates.
