A Xolo is the only breed on this list that the AKC sorts into three sizes and two coats. Tell the kennel which size and which variety and the rest of the plan follows.
Three sizes, one class
The standard lists toy at 10 to 14 inches, miniature over 14 and up to 18, and standard over 18 and up to 23. The AKC weight chart shows 10 to 55 pounds across all three. Economy suits one dog of any size; a standard Xolo who likes to stretch out may prefer Business Class at $59, about 30 square feet inside plus 60 outside. Two Xolos from the same home share for $52 plus $44.
Hairless or coated
In the hairless variety the standard describes total or almost total absence of hair, with a small amount of short coarse hair allowed on the head, feet and tail tip; the coated variety has a short, flat coat. The two are identical except for coat and teeth. The nearest bath column is Extra Short, from the bath chart effective January 1, 2024. Pick the row by weight, and please ask to confirm.
Sun, skin and cold nights
A dog with bare skin feels weather directly. The standard describes tough, protective, smooth skin, and the runs are heated in winter, with a Kuranda bed and blankets. The NOAA Vacaville station (1991-2020 normals) records about 100 days a year at 90 degrees or more, and sun is hard on bare skin. Plan outside time for morning and evening, and let the air-conditioned inside half carry the afternoon. If your Xolo wears a coat or has a skin routine, write it on the boarding agreement.
Calm and attentive
The standard says a typical Xolo is calm, tranquil, aloof and attentive. That makes a stay easy for most, with walks included and the large fenced areas for a short run. Leave your dog in the car at check-in and the staff will walk him in.
Costs
A week in Economy is 7 x $52 = $364 on the 2026 rates, and a long stay of 14 nights or more is $47 a night, so 14 x $47 = $658.
