The CFA says the Korat comes from Thailand, where it is considered a good-luck cat, and it reached the United States in 1959.
A cat that likes to be in charge
The CFA says the Korat forms a strong bond with its owners and considers itself the head of its family. It can make a wide range of noises and is not afraid to speak up for attention. Expect your Korat to tell staff what it wants. A set routine, with the same meals each day, helps.
Smart and energetic
The CFA calls the Korat energetic but not hyperactive and highly intelligent, recommending interactive and puzzle toys. A four-level tower, a cat tree and cat houses are all part of the cattery. Bring one familiar toy.
Short glossy coat
The coat is short, glossy and fine, and the CFA says weekly brushing is enough, with light shedding. Nail trimming, tooth brushing and ear cleaning round out the care. A fresh brushing before drop-off is plenty.
Size and maturity
Medium-sized with a surprising heft, males can weigh 10 pounds or more, and the CFA says the breed is slow to mature, reaching full size at two to four years. Cats must be 16 weeks before a stay in any case. Tell staff your cat's usual meal size.
Pricing and household
One cat is $35 a night on the 2026 rates, so ten nights is 10 x $35 = $350. A second cat from the same home is $30 a night. The CFA says Korats generally interact well with other household pets. Medications are given at no extra charge, and house food or your own food is free.
Booking and arrival
Reserve online through Book / My Account or call 707-678-6600; the kennel confirms every reservation. Drop-off and pick-up run 7:30 to 11:30 AM and 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Upload rabies and FVRCP records ahead of time, and bring your cat in a carrier. Check-out is by 11:30 AM.
Settling in
A Korat that likes to run the household may test a new routine at first. Tell staff what your cat does when it wants attention, and what it does when it is content. The tower has four levels, its own litter box and a blanket, and the cattery has a cat tree and cat houses.
