Beagles were bred to hunt in packs, and AKC says they enjoy company and are generally easygoing. They also follow their noses. Plan a boarding stay around both.
Two Beagle sizes
The breed has two height varieties: 13 inches and under, under 20 pounds, and 13 to 15 inches, 20 to 30 pounds. Both fit Economy. Two Beagles from one home share an Economy run for $52 and $44, and many are happier with a buddy.
Coat
The Beagle's coat is short and smooth. The chart's Short column lists $35 (16 to 25 pounds) or $40 (26 to 50). AKC puts shedding at 3 of 5, moderate. A bath is a nice treat before pick-up after a few days outdoors. Ask to confirm the price.
A nose with a dog attached
AKC rates the breed's energy at 4 of 5. In practice a Beagle on a walk sniffs every post, and in the large fenced play areas it will work the fence line. The grass field is a good place for that. If yours is a food thief at home, say so; the staff measure meals, and your own food in its original bag works fine, with cups written on the form.
Pack animals
Because they were bred to work in packs, Beagles can be vocal when they are lonely. Dogs see neighbors through the fence, which many pack dogs like. A familiar blanket or one toy from home helps.
Fences, leashes and a clever nose
Staff keep a leash on between areas and drop-off is done at the car. Make sure the collar fits and carries a current tag. If your dog slips a collar at home, tell us.
Stay costs
A long weekend of 4 nights in Economy is 4 x $52 on the 2026 rates. Two Beagles in one run are $52 plus $44 each night. Afternoon pick-up, between 2 and 5 PM, is half the nightly fee. Day care is $38 a day for dogs who need a daytime outing between stays, and the hourly rate is $7 up to $38.
Medicine and treats
Medications are given at no extra charge. Because a Beagle will work for food, treats are used sparingly and the sheet you fill out decides what your dog may have.
