Field Spaniels are cousins of the Cocker and the Springer, but rarer and calmer around the house. The AKC calls them docile at home and vigorous when they play.
Medium frame, Economy run
The top of the weight range, 50 pounds, is the edge of what Economy suits, so a heavy male is a good moment to mention his weight when you book. Most Fields at 35 to 45 pounds fit comfortably, at $52 a night for one dog. Two from one household share for $52 and $44.
Docile indoors, game outdoors
The AKC describes an active sporting breed with an energetic spirit that thrives on exercise and mental stimulation, and that likes downtime with the family too. A Field that has had a long run through the large fenced play areas tends to settle into the run afterward. Walks are part of every stay.
A single coat that wants weekly care
The AKC calls the single coat one of the breed's most attractive features and asks for weekly brushing and combing, with minimal trimming about the head and feet. It says the Field is not body clipped like some other spaniels. After a few days in the grass field, the long feathering on the ears and legs collects burrs and mud, so a bath before pick-up is worth asking about. On the 2024 bath chart the medium column is $45 at 26 to 50 pounds. Please ask to confirm.
Stay math for the Field Spaniel
For 6 nights, one Field Spaniel in Economy (4x4 ft) is 6 x $52 = $312 on the 2026 rates.
A second dog from your home sharing the run is $44 a night, and from 14 nights the rate drops to $47. The balance is due at pick-up, and check-out is by 11:30 AM. Military families pay that same reduced rate, about 10 percent off; the sheet does not list the two as combining, so call 707-678-6600 to confirm.
Ears, feathers and food
Because the AKC points out regular ear checks, mention any ear trouble on the boarding agreement. The AKC also says Fields adore their meals. The house grain-free kibble is free, and your own food is welcome in its original bag with the amount written in cups, which helps if your spaniel's weight is something you watch.
