Day care is not only for dogs. A cat who needs a safe place for the day, such as during a move, a repair crew or a long workday, can spend it in the cattery.
The price
The 2026 rate sheet lists cat day care at $25 for one cat and $21 for each additional cat sharing a tower. Compare that with overnight boarding at $35 for one cat and $30 for each additional cat. Two cats from one home for a day cost $25 plus $21.
Where the cat spends the day
Cats stay in individual four-level towers, each with its own litter box and blanket, and there is a cat tree and cat houses to play and hide in. The cattery is climate controlled, so a cat is comfortable through a hot Dixon afternoon or a cold morning.
When it helps
A floor refinish, a carpet install, a roofing day or a house full of guests can stress a cat, and so can open doors and loud tools. A single day in the cattery gives the cat a quiet place while the work happens, and you collect your cat in the afternoon window.
What to bring
The same short list as a stay: nothing but your cat and the records. Vaccines must be current, which for cats means rabies and FVRCP, and cats must be 16 weeks old. Own food is welcome at no charge, and the house food is canned pate and chicken-and-rice kibble.
