TDY, schools and basic training

Training trips tend to be short or medium, from a few days to a few months, and often come with little notice. Customers have written about coming home to their dog after basic training, which is a good reason to plan ahead for the end of the trip too.

Costs by trip length

The trip lengths above are examples, not packages. The nightly price is the same whether you book by phone or online.

Short notice

If orders arrive quickly, request dates through your online account or call 707-678-6600. The kennel confirms every reservation. If your vaccine records are already uploaded, only the boarding agreement and the drop-off remain.

Drop-off and pick-up run every day, 7:30 to 11:30 AM and 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Check-out is by 11:30 AM, and an afternoon pick-up is charged half of the nightly fee. Plan your return day with those hours in mind.

Someone else collects your pet

If you will be away at a school or in basic training, name the person allowed to pick up on the boarding agreement, with a second emergency contact who is not traveling with you. That person can collect your pet if you are delayed. Call the kennel as soon as you know your return changes.

Cats and small pets on a training trip

A cat stays in an individual four-level condo with its own litter box and blanket for $35 a night on the 2026 rates, and a second cat sharing the condo is $30. Small pets such as rabbits, hamsters and birds can stay too; please ask for their pricing and whether to bring the cage. Medications, special feedings and walks are included for every pet, so a pet on daily medicine can stay without an extra charge.

Keep records current

Dogs need rabies, distemper/parvo, Bordetella and canine influenza; cats need rabies and FVRCP. Records must be good through the last day. If a booster comes due during a long training cycle, send the new record. See Travis AFB families and vaccine questions.
