A home with both species has two different sets of needs, and the best boarding plan respects that. Your cat and your dog do not need to be together to be comfortable.
Two separate spaces, one stop
The cattery is in the front building, and the dog runs are in the separate kennel building. Your cat gets its own four-level tower with a litter box and blanket, and your dog gets a heated or air-conditioned indoor/outdoor run with a Kuranda bed and blanket, where it chooses inside or out through a doggie door. Each pet is housed for its own species rather than for the household.
AAHA's guidance for homes adding a pet says cats need to feel safe at all times, with high places and an escape route away from a dog. Keeping the two apart during the stay follows the same idea.
What a trip costs for each pet
As an example, four nights for one cat is 4 x $35 = $140, and four nights for a dog in a Business Class kennel is 4 x $59 = $236. Two cats from the same home sharing a condo pay $35 for the first and $30 for the second. The stay estimator adds the pets up for your dates.
| Pet | 2026 rate per night |
|---|---|
| Cat, one condo | $35 |
| Dog, Economy kennel | $52 |
| Dog, Business Class kennel | $59 |
| Dog, First Class kennel | $72 |
One drop-off, a few things to plan
- Upload both pets' records. Dogs need rabies, distemper/parvo, Bordetella and canine influenza; cats need rabies and FVRCP.
- Bring each pet's food in its original bag with the amount written in cups.
- At the kennel, leave both pets in the car while you check in. The staff carry in food and belongings and bring the animals in.
- Choose pick-up before 11:30 AM to avoid the half-night charge, or any time from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at half the nightly fee.
Coming home together
Your pets may smell like the kennel. The cat guide on bringing your cat home covers a calm re-entry, and a dog that arrives tired and a bit dusty after the grass field may want a bath. Give each pet a quiet first hour in its usual spot.
