Madison in numbers
Madison has about 235 households and 805 residents. All of the homes counted are single-family houses and about 94 percent are owner-occupied. The national shares point to about 80 Madison households with a cat, an estimate from Census and AVMA data.
With more than half the houses built before 1980, a first night away from home can be a big change for a Madison cat, so it helps to know what the tower looks like.
Interstate 505 and Midway Road
The route is 1.0 mile on Highway 16, then 17.6 miles on Interstate 505, then Midway Road to 6677 Midway Road. It is 26.7 miles and about 38 minutes without traffic.
Midway is a slow country road, so give yourself a few minutes past what the map says. Check-out is by 11:30 AM; an afternoon pick-up window runs 2:00 to 5:00 PM.
A cat that has the run of a house
A four-level tower with a litter box and blanket of its own gives a cat height to climb and a place to watch from; the cattery also keeps a cat tree and cat houses. A cat who dislikes change may settle faster with a worn T-shirt or blanket from home.
Cost and records
One cat for 10 nights is 10 x $35 = $350 on the 2026 rates. Bring rabies and FVRCP proof good through the last day, and see the cat boarding page for everything the cattery includes.
Food, bowls and what to bring
You really need to bring nothing but your cat. House food is free, pate and a chicken-and-rice kibble, and your own food is welcome at no charge in the original bag with amounts written in cups. One toy is fine, though not the favorite one. Payment is due at pick-up by cash, check, debit, Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover.

I chose Happy Paws originally because the dogs can go in and out without having to be put on a leash. I am so happy I made that decision. Now my...
Clean and well organized, with a friendly, helpful staff. Our two pitties love their periodic "vacation" stays at Happy Paws! We live an hour away, but it's well worth the drive. Highly recommended.
