Check-out is by 11:30 AM. Happy Paws charges by the night, like a hotel, so picking up in the afternoon window, 2:00 to 5:00 PM, adds half of the nightly fee. For one dog in Business Class that is half of $59; for a cat, half of $35. Two dogs sharing a kennel pay half of the combined nightly rate. ## Planning around a flight Landing at Sacramento in the afternoon? SMF is about 40 minutes from the kennel without traffic, so an afternoon pick-up the same day is often easier than an early start the next morning. The 11:30 check-out gives the staff the middle of the day to clean and set up runs before the afternoon arrivals, which is also why the office closes from 11:30 to 2:00. ## Booking a bath before pick-up If you want your dog bathed before going home, tell the staff your best arrival time so bathing and drying are finished when you get there.
