In 2027 Easter falls on March 28 and Happy Paws is closed that Sunday; any stay that begins March 21 through April 4 needs a 50% holiday deposit. [Book a stay](https://happypawskennels.propetware.com/customerLogin)[Call 707-678-6600](tel:+17076786600) Spring break is the first big travel week of the year after the winter holidays, and it often overlaps with Easter. The overlap decides whether you owe a deposit. ## Find your dates first Dixon, Davis and Vacaville each have their own school calendar, and spring break is set by each district, not by the kennel. Check your district's published calendar before you buy tickets. UC Davis lists spring break for 2027 as March 20 to 24, between winter quarter finals and the start of spring quarter, so students, faculty and families tied to the campus travel that week. A stay that begins March 21 to April 4, 2027 needs the Easter deposit on the 2026 sheet. If your stay starts earlier but runs into that window, call 707-678-6600 to confirm. ## Three sample trips Please call to confirm how your exact dates are treated. | Your trip | What to expect | | --- | --- | | Drop off Saturday, March 20, back by Saturday, March 27 | Starts before the window opens, so no deposit under the rate sheet. | | Drop off Monday, March 22, back Monday, March 29 | Starts inside the window. The 50% deposit is due 30 days before, by February 20. Sunday, March 28 is a closed day. | | Drop off Saturday, April 3 | Starts inside the window. The deposit applies through April 4. | ## Budget the week A week is seven nights. One dog in a Business Class kennel is 7 x $59, which is $413 on the 2026 rates. Two dogs who share a kennel pay $59 plus $50 each night. A cat condo is $35 a night, or $245 for seven. A stay of 14 nights or more drops a Business Class dog to the long-term rate of $53. The [stay estimator](https://happypawskennels.com/tools/stay-cost-estimator/) works through each option. ## Book before you buy flights Reservations are requests until the kennel confirms them, so send the request first and confirm it before locking in non-refundable travel. Upload vaccine records at the same time. Canine influenza needs its booster three to four weeks after the first dose, and records must stay valid through your last day, so a spring trip means checking dates in February. ### Sources (checked October 19, 2026) - [Happy Paws Kennels 2026 rate sheet (PDF)](https://happypawskennels.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/2026-Rates-EFFECTIVE-1-1-26.pdf) - [Happy Paws Kennels hours page](https://happypawskennels.com/hours/) - [UC Davis registrar, 2026-27 master calendar (PDF)](https://local-resources.ucdavis.edu/local_resources/docs/calendars/calendar-master-2026-2027.pdf) ### Before your first stay - [Vaccination records](https://happypawskennels.com/vaccination-requirements/) current through pick-up day - A signed [boarding agreement](https://happypawskennels.com/boarding-contract/) - Pets 16 weeks or older - [Bring nothing but your pet](https://happypawskennels.com/what-to-bring/) ### Visit or call 6677 Midway Road, Dixon, CA 95620 [707-678-6600](tel:+17076786600) | Drop-off and pick-up, every day | 7:30 to 11:30 AM and 2:00 to 5:00 PM | | --- | --- | | Tours, every day (no appointment) | 9:00 to 11:00 AM and 2:00 to 4:00 PM | [Book a stay](https://happypawskennels.propetware.com/customerLogin) ### Related - [Easter weekend boarding](https://happypawskennels.com/occasions/easter/) - [Holiday boarding](https://happypawskennels.com/dog-boarding/holiday-boarding/) - [Holiday deposit checker](https://happypawskennels.com/tools/holiday-deposit-checker/) - [UC Davis move-in, Picnic Day, graduation](https://happypawskennels.com/occasions/uc-davis-families/) - [Davis](https://happypawskennels.com/areas/davis/) ## Price your stay Drop-off Pick-up Pick-up time By 11:30 AM Afternoon Dogs Cats Kennel class for your dogs Options My dogs share one kennel My cats share one condo Active military family Your estimate Pick your dates to see an estimate from the 2026 rate sheet. They offers tours, have A/C and/or heat. They always look and smell super clean. They even filter the indoor air. They email pics of them playing. I have 2 large breeds that share a 1st class kennel. They even offer treats and baths. So nice to have a place I trust. Everyone is... Deanna M., Google review, July 2026 This place is fantastic! I have one super easy going dog and one that is very much the opposite, she takes a long time to be comfortable with strangers and can be aggressive. I chose Happy Paws originally because the dogs can go in and out without having to be put on a leash. I am so happy I made that decision. Now my...
