[Book a stay](https://happypawskennels.propetware.com/customerLogin)[Call 707-678-6600](tel:+17076786600) - **Weight (AKC):** 30 lb - **Kennel:** Economy Class, 4 x 4 ft - **Per night:** $52 - **Bath (2024 chart):** $45 to $55 A Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a small, sturdy dog, up to 30 pounds for males and 28 for females by the AKC, with a thick double coat, so one fits an Economy kennel (4x4 ft, $52 a night on the 2026 rates). In the Double Coated column of the 2024 bath chart, 26 to 50 pounds is $55 and 16 to 25 pounds is $45. Corgis are herders in a small package. AKC calls them strong, athletic and lively, affectionate without being needy, and rates their shedding at 4 of 5. Both facts shape a stay. ## Short legs, plenty of kennel AKC lists 10 to 12 inches. A Corgi is long and low, but it weighs under 30 pounds, so Economy is a fit. For two Corgis from one home, Economy is $52 plus $44 for the second. ## A double coat to expect on the blankets The outer coat is medium length and straight over a dense undercoat, which blows out heavily twice a year. A bath and a brush before pick-up send less fur home. The Double Coated column is the likely cell: $45 at 16 to 25 pounds, $55 at 26 to 50 (please ask to confirm). ## Herding instincts AKC rates energy at 4 of 5, and the breed is one of the world's most popular herding dogs. A Corgi may circle or nip at moving feet. If yours does, say so, and staff will lead it in with care. The grass field gives it a place to run. ## Weight and heat Corgis are easy to overfeed, and house food is free, so write a cup amount if yours is on a diet. In the heat, the double coat does not mean thick sun is welcome. Near Dixon about 28 days a year top 100 degrees by NOAA's Vacaville normals, and the cool inside half is available. ## Weight, treats and walks A Corgi's low body makes a few extra pounds obvious. Walks are included in the nightly rate, and if your dog is on a diet, send the food in its original bag with the cups written down. Treats, farm-fresh eggs and hot dogs are on the free house menu, so tell us if yours should skip them. ## Cost examples Economy is $52 a night on the 2026 rates, 7 nights is 7 x $52, and 14 nights or more drops to $47. Two Corgis from one home are $52 plus $44. A day care visit is $38. ## Meeting neighbors Dogs see neighbors through the fence but have their own space, which suits a Corgi that likes to keep watch. ### Sources (checked October 19, 2026) - [American Kennel Club - Pembroke Welsh Corgi breed page](https://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/pembroke-welsh-corgi/) - [Happy Paws Kennels 2026 rate sheet (PDF)](https://happypawskennels.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/2026-Rates-EFFECTIVE-1-1-26.pdf) - [Happy Paws Kennels bathing rates effective January 1, 2024](https://happypawskennels.com/rates/) - [NOAA NCEI U.S. Climate Normals 1991-2020](https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/data/normals-monthly/1991-2020/access/) ### 2026 nightly rates - First Class kennel $72 - Business Class kennel $59 - Economy Class kennel $52 - Cat condo $35 All-inclusive: food, medications and walks. 2026 rates, effective for reservations made on or after Jan 1, 2026.
