[Book a stay](https://happypawskennels.propetware.com/customerLogin)[Call 707-678-6600](tel:+17076786600) [Usually fits a Business Class kennel $59 a night ยท 5 x 6 ft inside](https://happypawskennels.com/dog-boarding/business-class-kennel/) - **Weight (AKC):** 60 to 70 lb - **Height (AKC):** 27 to 30 in - **Kennel:** Business Class, 5 x 6 ft - **Per night:** $59 - **Bath (2024 chart):** $40 The AKC lists a Greyhound at 28 to 30 inches (male) and 27 to 28 inches (female) and 65 to 70 pounds for males and 60 to 65 for females, so one fits a Business Class kennel (5x6 ft, $59 a night on the 2026 rates). On the bath chart effective January 1, 2024, the extra short column is $40 at 51 to 75 pounds; please ask to confirm. The champion sprinter of dogdom is a gentle, noble, sweet-tempered companion with an independent spirit, per the AKC. ## Coat and baths Short and smooth, with occasional shedding. A thin coat suits a mild day. On the bath chart effective January 1, 2024, a 51 to 75 pound dog is $40 in the extra short column and $45 in the short column. Please ask to confirm. ## Sprinter on duty, couch dog off duty The AKC lists the Greyhound as one of the best dogs for apartment dwellers, gentle and independent. After a walk, a Greyhound is happy on the Kuranda bed. Fenced play areas offer room to stretch. ## Heat, cold and the run With a lean body and short coat, a Greyhound feels both heat and cold. Heated runs in winter and air-conditioned in summer are the answer. ## A quiet dog in an active place The AKC lists the Greyhound as gentle and well suited to apartments. At the kennel that means a dog who is content to nap on a Kuranda bed and take his walks. The large fenced play areas and grass field give room for the occasional sprint. ## Check-in, rates and timing At 60 to 70 pounds and up to 30 inches, a Greyhound fits Business Class (5x6 ft, $59 a night). Business Class is $59 a night on the 2026 rates, so a 6 night stay is 6 x $59 = $354. Check-out is by 11:30 AM. Leave your Greyhound in the car at check-in, and staff will walk him in. Two Greyhounds from one home can share Business Class at $59 and $50, or each take a run if one prefers his own. ## A week for one Greyhound Figures are from the 2026 rates. You pay the balance at pick-up. The reduced rate starts at 14 nights; active military families pay that same reduced rate, about 10 percent off (the rate sheet does not list the two as combining; call 707-678-6600 to confirm). **Business Class kennel, 2026 rates** | Stay | One Greyhound | Second dog from your home sharing | | --- | --- | --- | | 3 nights | 3 x $59 = $177 | 3 x $50 = $150 | | 7 nights | 7 x $59 = $413 | 7 x $50 = $350 | | 14 nights (reduced rate) | 14 x $53 = $742 | 14 x $50 = $700 | ### Sources (checked October 19, 2026) - [American Kennel Club - Greyhound breed page](https://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/greyhound/) - [Happy Paws Kennels 2026 rate sheet (PDF)](https://happypawskennels.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/2026-Rates-EFFECTIVE-1-1-26.pdf) - [Happy Paws Kennels bathing rates effective January 1, 2024](https://happypawskennels.com/rates/) - [NOAA NCEI U.S. Climate Normals 1991-2020](https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/data/normals-monthly/1991-2020/access/) ### 2026 nightly rates - First Class kennel $72 - Business Class kennel $59 - Economy Class kennel $52 - Cat condo $35 All-inclusive: food, medications and walks. 2026 rates, effective for reservations made on or after Jan 1, 2026.
