On the bath chart effective January 1, 2024, the extra long or double coated column is $75 at 76 to 100 pounds and $85 at over 100 pounds; please ask to confirm. Pyrs guard sheep on snowy mountains and, per the AKC, usually have a Zen-like calm. A kennel suits that calm. ## A calm guardian in First Class With males at 100 pounds and up, a Great Pyrenees fits First Class, 6x8 ft, $72 a night on the 2026 rates. A smaller female may fit Business Class at $59. ## Coat and baths The AKC calls the coat lush, weatherproof and white, and lists a double coat with seasonal shedding. On the bath chart effective January 1, 2024, the double coated column is $75 at 76 to 100 pounds and $85 over 100. Please ask to confirm. ## Mellow, vigilant and patient The AKC calls Pyrs mellow companions and vigilant guardians. They usually exhibit a Zen-like calm, but they can spring into action quickly. At a kennel that means a dog who will watch the fence line. A quiet hand-off at check-in works well. ## Heat, cold and the run A coat built for snowy mountaintops is a lot for a valley summer. The AKC calls the coat weatherproof, not cooling. The indoor air-conditioned side is the right spot for a Pyr on a hot day, with outside time in the cooler hours. ## Quiet check-in for a calm guardian The AKC says Pyrs usually show a Zen-like calm but can spring into action. A calm hand-off works well. Staff walk your dog in from the car. ## Rates First Class is $72 a night, or $65 from 14 nights. For a smaller female in Business Class the rate is $59 and then $53. Medications are given at no extra charge. ## Hours and holidays Drop-off and pick-up run daily from 7:30 to 11:30 AM and 2:00 to 5:00 PM. The kennel closes all day on New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Holiday stays may need a deposit on the 2026 sheet, so please call to confirm. ### Sources (checked October 19, 2026) - [American Kennel Club - Great Pyrenees breed page](https://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/great-pyrenees/) - [Happy Paws Kennels 2026 rate sheet (PDF)](https://happypawskennels.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/2026-Rates-EFFECTIVE-1-1-26.pdf) - [Happy Paws Kennels bathing rates effective January 1, 2024](https://happypawskennels.com/rates/) - [NOAA NCEI U.S. Climate Normals 1991-2020](https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/data/normals-monthly/1991-2020/access/) ### 2026 nightly rates - First Class kennel $72 - Business Class kennel $59 - Economy Class kennel $52 - Cat condo $35 All-inclusive: food, medications and walks. 2026 rates, effective for reservations made on or after Jan 1, 2026.
