The Cat Fanciers' Association calls the breed vocal, affectionate and active, with a great need for human attention. The goal of a stay is to give a talkative, attention-loving cat something to do and somewhere warm to lie. ## A talker in a tower The CFA says the Siamese is often considered the most intelligent of cats, with a large repertoire of vocalizations, and that it gravitates to the warmest spot in the house. The cattery gives each cat an individual four-level tower with a blanket, which is a warm spot of its own, plus a litter box. The nightly price is $35 on the 2026 rates. Tell the staff your cat is vocal, so a loud first evening is no surprise. ## Size and build The CFA describes a Siamese as a cat whose everything is long except the coat: a long flat profile, long neck, body, tail and legs, with a wedge-shaped head, large broad-based ears and blue almond eyes. A lean climber like this uses all four levels of the tower. ## Short coat, simple routine The Siamese has a short coat with color at the points. The CFA says it does shed and a little regular stroking is needed, which can be done by hand with no special equipment. A quick stroke before drop-off is enough. ## Attention is the real need The CFA describes a need for closeness and human attention that goes beyond heat-seeking. A cat like that is best with the shortest stays you can manage, and a pair from the same home often does well sharing a tower; the second cat is $30 a night. Cat day care at $25 is a gentler first step for a cat that has never been away from you. ## What a stay costs Three nights for one Siamese is 3 x $35 = $105 on the 2026 rates. A pair that lives together adds 3 x $30 = $90 for the second cat. Short stays suit the breed best, since the CFA notes how strongly it seeks human company. ## Food and medicine Pate and chicken-and-rice kibble are the house foods at no charge. A Siamese with firm opinions can bring its own food in the original bag, with the amount written in cups.
