[Book a stay](https://happypawskennels.propetware.com/customerLogin)[Call 707-678-6600](tel:+17076786600) [Usually fits a Business Class kennel $59 a night ยท 5 x 6 ft inside](https://happypawskennels.com/dog-boarding/business-class-kennel/) - **Weight (AKC):** 65 to 80 lb - **Kennel:** Business Class, 5 x 6 ft - **Per night:** $59 - **Bath (2024 chart):** $40 to $45 A Boxer is a large dog, 65 to 80 pounds for males and about 15 pounds less for females by the AKC, with a short coat, so one fits a Business Class kennel (5x6 ft, $59 a night on the 2026 rates). Boxer is the bath chart's own example for Extra Short: $40 at 51 to 75 pounds, $45 at 76 to 100. AKC calls Boxers bright, alert, sometimes silly and always courageous. The breed has a short muzzle, so heat deserves attention. ## Business Class fits Males are 23 to 25 inches, females 21.5 to 23.5. Two Boxers from one home can share a First Class run for $72 plus $61. ## Extra Short coat The bath chart's how-to names the Boxer as its Extra Short example. A 51 to 75 pound Boxer is $40; heavier males are $45. AKC rates shedding at 2 of 5. Ask to confirm. ## Bouncy energy AKC gives the Boxer 4 of 5 for energy. Expect jumping and play bows in the fenced areas. Walks are included. ## Heat and short muzzles The Boxer's short coat means little protection from sun and the short face means panting works less well. Dixon sees about 100 days at 90 degrees or higher. Use the air-conditioned inside half and see our page on [flat-faced dogs in the heat](https://happypawskennels.com/breeds/flat-faced-dogs/). ## Cost examples Business Class is $59 a night on the 2026 rates; a week is 7 x $59 = $413. Two Boxers from one home share First Class for $72 plus $61. At 14 nights or more the rate is $53 in Business. ## Food and medicine Send your Boxer's food in the original bag with cups written down, or use the free house food. Medications are given at no extra charge. ## Check-in Come in the morning window if you can. Leave your dog in the car and staff will walk him in. ## Records and paperwork Rabies, distemper/parvo, Bordetella and canine influenza records must be good through the last day. Boxers over 16 weeks are welcome, neutered or intact. A boarding agreement is signed once. ## Playtime Boxers are known for bouncing, so the grass field and the large fenced play areas are a good outlet. Extras on the menu include a Happy Pupsicle at $7.99 and a Happy Lick Mat at $4.99. ## Booking Request a stay online at Book / My Account, or call 707-678-6600. The kennel confirms every request. ## Why a tired Boxer is a happy one A Boxer that has played hard comes home ready to sleep. Expect a hungry, relaxed dog for a day or two after pick-up, and ask the staff at check-out how the stay went. ### Sources (checked October 19, 2026) - [American Kennel Club - Boxer breed page](https://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/boxer/) - [Happy Paws Kennels 2026 rate sheet (PDF)](https://happypawskennels.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/2026-Rates-EFFECTIVE-1-1-26.pdf) - [Happy Paws Kennels bathing rates effective January 1, 2024](https://happypawskennels.com/rates/) - [NOAA NCEI U.S. Climate Normals 1991-2020](https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/data/normals-monthly/1991-2020/access/) ### 2026 nightly rates - First Class kennel $72 - Business Class kennel $59 - Economy Class kennel $52 - Cat condo $35 All-inclusive: food, medications and walks. 2026 rates, effective for reservations made on or after Jan 1, 2026.
